How we write, review, and correct
Flow Decoded is an independent educational blog. This page says exactly how content gets made — and how it gets fixed when it's wrong.
Independence
We are not a contractor and do not sell services. We take no payment from companies for coverage, listings, or recommendations. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed here first.
Authors and AI assistance
Articles are drafted with AI research assistance and reviewed by a human editor before publication. Technical claims trace to cited sources (manufacturer documentation, code bodies, utilities, public agencies). We name the reviewing editor on request and log a reviewer for every substantive article internally.
Sources
We cite primary sources wherever possible and record the date we checked each one. Where a claim depends on jurisdiction or equipment model, the article says so. Claims we can't support get removed or explicitly labeled as uncertain — not quietly kept.
Cost figures
Cost content follows our published methodology: modeled estimates are labeled as such, never presented as surveys or quotes, and kept in sync with the estimator version cited on the page.
Schedule
We publish three articles a week (plumbing Monday, electrical Wednesday, HVAC Friday, 10am Eastern) plus occasional priority pieces from real homeowner photos and questions, with permission. Quality gates can delay a slot; we don't publish filler to hit a number.
Corrections
Spotted an error? Email [email protected]. Material corrections are fixed at the article and noted with a dated correction line at the bottom of the piece. We preserve correction history rather than silently rewriting.
Privacy
We don't run ads or trackers. Email sent to us is used to answer you, and any photos shared for stories are stripped of location metadata and personal details before use, with permission confirmed first.
